Ombre, dip dye, color melt....oh my! Now what the heck do they really mean? Can I eat it or is it only for hair? Well, last time I checked I wouldn't eat any of the products used in these hair coloring techniques, but the names of some of the colors do make me a little hungry. So what exactly is an obmre`? What is the difference between ombre` or dip dye? Drum roll please....the color choice! The techniques used to create the blend from dark to light or one color to another are the same.
Dip dye is typically done with vibrant colors on pre lightened hair, ombre is a blend from a darker base color to a lighter color at the ends. Color melt is another term used to describe the technique of blending the colors together.
You can choose any of the terms and visit google images to see all kinds of different color combinations. This is just one example....
